Mussel shells form the robed figures of Mary & Joseph their faces gently sculpted from wood beads. The baby Jesus rests in a delicate slippersnail shell cradle, nestled upon Spanish moss. Cotton hand dyed fiber drapes the figures with quiet dignity, while a golden (metal) North star adorns the night sky—a beacon of hope and faith.

The reverse is painted in soft grey. A rope hanger is affixed, making it easy to display.
